Seattle Public Library AAPI Heritage Month Event

Organized by Mr. Gene Chang, a board member of the Seattle Library Foundation, over a hundred AAPI community activists and supporters gathered on the 17th floor of the Russell Investment Center to support the Seattle Library Foundation. The event raised more than $11,000, showcasing the remarkable unity and strength of the AAPI community..

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincerest gratitude to every organization and friend who participated in the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month event with the Seattle Public Library Foundation yesterday. It was truly inspiring to see so many people come together to celebrate the richness of language and culture.

Above is a list of organizations participating in the event.

Gene Chang and his wife, Sharon, and colleague Mandy worked tirelessly in organizing this event to build a bridge between our community and the Seattle Library Foundation to honor Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Their dedication and commitment makes a huge difference in our community.

Assunta Ng, our AAPI community representative spokesperson, delivered an outstanding speech in less than 48 hours of preparation. Assunta's wonderful speech reviewed history and looked forward to the future, full of passion and humor, which shocked the audience and closely connected our Asian community and the Seattle Public Library.

We would also like to give special thanks to our AAPI elected officials, Janice Zahn, Sun Burford and Will Chen. Your attendance was a great boost to our community and demonstrated your outstanding support for our events. Your commitment to serving our community is truly admirable.
